COCA Public Notice

Candidate Status Application | Public Notification of Opportunity to Comment

This will serve as formal notice consistent with the American Osteopathic Association’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) Accreditation Element 12.7 that the proposed Maryland College of Osteopathic Medicine (MDCOM) (applicant status-seeking accreditation) at Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD, intends to seek Candidate status through the COCA with an anticipated review date by April 13-15, 2023. Third party comments regarding this application or other questions or comments regarding the proposed MDCOM may be sent to COCA at predoc@osteopathic.org or COCA, c/o AOA, 142 E. Ontario Street, Chicago, IL 60611. The proposed MDCOM (applicant status-seeking accreditation) is in the developmental stage of accreditation and has not been approved to recruit students. Inquiries to the proposed MDCOM (applicant status-seeking accreditation) may be forwarded to John Sealey, DO, Founding Dean and Chief Academic Officer at sealey@marylandcom.org. Please note that the proposed MDCOM is a private, investor owned, medical school affiliated with Morgan State University. MDCOM will be a separately accredited, licensed and independently operated entity and not part of Morgan State University.
